Thomas Franklin “Frank” Woodruff, 90, of Lamplight Drive, died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Woodruff was a machinist for Cummins Engine Company until he retired in June 1976. He attended Garden City Church of Christ, was a member of American Legion Post No. 24 in Columbus and CREAK Club, enjoyed guitar music and gave lessons at Gary Davis Music Center for many years.
He was a former member of Bartholomew County Senior Center.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served at Guadalcanal, Luzon and the Northern Solomon Islands. He was awarded the CIB (Combat Infantry Badge), Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, the American Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Ribbon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Clark County Aug. 19, 1920, Mr. Woodruff was the son of Alva Harmon and Georgia Ann Wood Woodruff.
Survivors include a daughter, Marla J. Woodruff of Columbus, and his companion, Ruby Coop of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maggie Woodruff and Katherine A. Spear; four brothers, Charles H., Russell R., Robert R. and Alva H. Woodruff, Jr.; and his wife, Jean E. Simmons Woodruff.
