

Born in Columbus Dec. 11, 1918, Wanda was the daughter of Oris Earl and Inez Marie Wendel Stam. She married Hugh H. Jones Aug. 4, 1940, in Jonesboro, Tennessee. He preceded her in death June 19, 1993.
Wanda was a longtime member of First Christian Church where she was active in the Loyal Couples Class. She and her husband were co-supervisors of the First Christian Church Youth Center for seven years.
She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Columbus Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, was very active in and past co-president of NAMI South Central (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill), served on the State Community Residential Council and was a member of the Respite Care Board for the Mentally Ill. She was a homemaker and worked for Wendel Brothers early in her life.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Bill Behrman and the Rev. Don Imel officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Mark W. (Cathi) Jones, Barton E. Jones and Hugh L. (Cheryl) Jones, all of Columbus; her daughter, Jeanne M. (Bill) Rollison of Indianapolis; sisters, Emogene Alfs of Avon and Wendola Thompson of Columbus; her brother, Earl (Ruth Ann) Stam of Columbus; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley and Amanda Jones, Rachael and Nate Rollison, all of Indianapolis, and Jamie (Matt) Hoffman and Matt (Katie) Rust, all of Columbus; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Val Douglas Jones, on Aug. 5, 1999.
