He served in the United States Army and after his discharge, he began working at Cummins Engine Company. He retired from Cummins after 40 years.
William was a member of the Columbus Moose Lodge No. 398 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #233 in Edinburgh.
He had a passion for bass fishing and traveled on many fishing trips throughout his life. He especially enjoyed the family tradition of fishing trips in Canada with his sons.
He is survived by his sons, Dale Denny and Lynn Denny (Melody Lambert); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Charlotte Denny Banda; and grandson, Dale Hubbard.
A funeral service for William will be held Monday, May 9 at 2 pm at Myers-Reed Chapel. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may gather for visitation from noon until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
