William R. Vire, 80, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. He was born January 18, 1944, in Detroit, MI to Cecil D. and Ethel (Valerie) Vire. They preceded him in death.
Mr. Vire grew up in Kentucky before moving to Columbus. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from Arvin Industries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Vire.
Survivors include his loving children, Billie Banuelos of Shelbyville, Brian Cecil of Evansville, Tammy Cecil of Columbus, and Susan Coomer of Columbus; grandchildren, Stephanie, Steve, Melanie, Courtney, Conner, Baylee, and Drea. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Hathaway-Myers Chapel. Friends will be received one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
