William George Walters

Bill was born in South Beloit, Illinois, on Oct. 5, 1924, the son of Max and Jesse Taft Walters. After returning from serving in the United States Marine Corp during World War II, he married Doris E. Peterson on Sept. 2, 1944, in Rockford, Illinois. They lived in Rockford, then in Sun City West, Arizona, and finally, in Columbus, Indiana, since 2002.

Bill retired after 38 years from Rockford Drop Forge having held several different management positions including Plant Manager during his tenure.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Doris; son, Mark; and brother, Erwin (Erv) Walters.

He is survived by his son, Gary (Carol) Walters; grandsons, Marc (Samantha) Walters and Eric (Michelle) Walters; and great‐grandchildren, Carson, Madison, Lilyan, Cohen, Brady and Aden.

Cremation is planned and inurnment will take place at Arlington Memorial Park in Rockford, Illinois. Celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Myers‐Reed Chapel on 25th Street. is entrusted with the arrangements.
