

Aida P. Canuto, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Aida was born on June 11, 1929 in the Philippines; she was the daughter of the late Vicente and Remedios Canuto. Aida was also preceded in death by brother, Efren Canuto. She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Karen (Clark) Cornell of Columbus; granddaughter, Gwen Cornell; grandson, Brandon Cornell; brother, Antonio Canuto of the Philippines; sisters, Sylvia Canuto of the Philippines and Mila (Manny) Vital of Florida; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her grand-dogs, Chief and Libby. She is also survived by her second family at Mt. Carmel West Hospital; Aida retired there after many years as a Surgical Technician. She enjoyed watching OSU football, and was an avid follower of professional tennis and golf along with tending to her rose bushes. Aida’s fried rice will be missed. She was very proud of her Filipino heritage and also her U.S. citizenship which she received on February 8, 1994. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 4-7pm at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
