

Alberta Mae Miller, age 95, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 6, 2016. She was born September 23, 1921 in Franklin County, Ohio to Harry J. and Hazel N. (Clotts) Poth. Alberta was a 1939 graduate of Gahanna-Lincoln High School and a 1943 graduate of Capital University, where she majored in French and had a double minor in English and History. After a short time of teaching, she married Raymond Miller and devoted her time to her family and her children's activities. She was an excellent seamstress, a room mother year after year and leader of two different 4-H clubs. Alberta was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church for most of her life, where she taught Sunday school, played the piano, and wrote and produced many Christmas programs. She is currently a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she enjoyed participating in Bible study. She also wrote and published a children's book entitled "Dorcas Sews for Others". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Miller; sister, Mabel Miller and brother, Harry Poth Jr. She is survived by her devoted children, Marilyn, David (LuAnn), Kathie and Linda; sisters, Marvene Poth and Doris Poth and sister-in-law, Ruth Poth; nephews and extended family and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4pm and 6-8pm Monday, December 12, 2016 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Funeral Service 11am Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4456 Morse Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 with visiting from 10-11am; interment to follow at Mifflin Cemetery; Pastor Steve Brown officiating.
