Alma Juanita Rosen

Alma Juanita Rosen, a lifelong resident of Columbus, died Saturday. April 1, 2017 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born July 9, 1940, the oldest child of Orville Dewey and Lois Irene (Jones) Legg. She was a 1958 graduate of Central High School. Alma retired from Kroger’s following many years and was a supporter to her husband and daughters in all of their endeavors. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her husband of over 50 years, Sidney Rosen; her five daughters, Doreen Rosen, Eve Latting, Lisa “Alex” Pence, Angela Jones and Sonya Dotson; sons-in-law, Rick Latting, Kevin Jones and Brian Pence; her beloved grandchildren, Ansley Latting, Natalie Pence, Judah Northrup, David Latting, Hayden Pence, Jacob Jones and Avery Pence. Also survived by a sister Imogene Mills and brother, Orville Legg.

Alma’s kindness and elegance showed in every aspect of her life and she touched the heart of everyone she met. Her love and loyalty to her family, friends and co-workers was without measure. She leaves her family with a void but so much fuller because of her presence. Alma had a contagious laugh and could be considered “everyone’s sunshine”. A twenty year cancer survivor, she battled the disease and never gave up. Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses and The James for helping her in her courageous battle. Alma loved to shop and always found a bargain.

She was like a mother to so many due to her “I will always be here for you” attitude.

Friends may call 11:00-1:00 pm at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St., Columbus, OH 43215, where funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday. Private interment at Temple Israel Cemetery.
