Alvin J. Campbell

A Funeral Service for Alvin Campbell of Newark will be held Monday December 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Murphy officiating. Burial will take place in Fountain City, Indiana.

Alvin was born in Knox County, Kentucky on October 23, 1941 to the late William & Lucy (Sampson) Campbell. He died Friday December 23, 2011 at the Selma Markowitz Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was 70.

A veteran of the US Air Force, he worked a variety of jobs during his life and was very reliable, giving his time to many people. He was a member of the Eagles, loved animals, nature, auto racing, sports, especially the OSU Buckeyes, and restoring old cars.

Alvin was preceded in death by eleven brothers and twos sisters. He is survived by his brother Paul (Loretta) Campbell of Louisville, KY, sister-in-law Zona Campbell of Newark, and numerous nieces and nephews. He never met a stranger.
