Alyce E Mills

Alyce E. (Weller) Mills, 75 of Circleville, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, March 22nd at 10:30am at Pickaway Manor Renaissance in Circleville. She fought a courageous 3 month battle against pancreatic cancer. Alyce was born March 8, 1935 to William Floyd

and Mildred Cora (Young) Weller in Circleville, Ohio. She was a 1953 graduate of Circleville High School and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. On April 25, 1954 she married Jack W. Mills of Williamsport, Ohio. She had once been employed by Morgan’s Confectionary, Columbus Industries and was the manager of Video Avenue. She was a Pickaway County Board of Elections poll worker for nearly 20 years. Alyce taught Sunday school at the Trinity Lutheran Church for many years and also serving as superintendent. She often volunteered in the church office. Alyce had also provided childcare to many children in the Circleville community. She is survived by her sons, Mark Mills and companion Bonnie Salyers, Mikel and Christy Mills, daughter Marcia (Pete) Bowers all of Circleville. Daughter Melissa (David) Salomone of Bainbridge, Ohio. Grandchildren, Shaun, Shane and Shannon Mills, John and Emily Mills, Amanda (Josh) Patterson,Rachel and Pete Bowers, Cecilia, Dominic, Adrian and Roman Salomone. Great-grandchildren Ava and Cayden Patterson. Brothers, George (Alice) Weller and Sam (Nancy) Weller. Sister-in-laws, Jo Ann Weller and Jean Mills, brother-in-law Jim Gates ; and many nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years Jack Mills, infant grandson Gabriel Salomone, sisters, Phyllis Struckman and Mary Carolyn Gates and brother, William “Bill” Weller. Alyce was known for love of her grandchildren, music, cooking and of course talking! She followed her “own sweet will” as it said in her high school yearbook to the very end. She will be greatly missed by many who loved and knew her. Friends and family may call Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, Ohio where funeral service will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 10:00AM. Pastor Gerhard Kraus officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio.
