Thank you for sharing the memorial service with us.  After watching Amelie's story unfold on FB for many months, we felt apart of her little life as we prayed for her. Amelie even though we never met. I feel that I knew you, from the day you came into the world until you closed your eyes to wait for Jesus to come to take you home. You were a blessing and a miracle. God showed us how He worked through you to change peoples lives. I am looking so forward to meeting you and getting to know you throughout eternity. I am also waiting to see my mom and dad again. When I do, I will introduce you to them.  I will share your story with them and I’m sure that they will fall in love with you too. Until tomorrow when I’ll see you again.

I feel there are no words that would be enough to describe how beautiful and courageous beautiful Amelie is. She gets that from her parents for sure!

I met you not not so long ago yet I know I’ll never be able to forget you and your impact on my life has been profound. Each day I was excited and nervous about what your day would hold.  I had no idea I could be so affected by a precious little babe that I had never met in person.  I know I’m one of many who feel this way.  

Because of you, I am consciously making more of an effort to love my own littles; because of your Mommy, I have decided to return to my Faith.

Sweet Amelie, I stumbled across your mama’s Instagram page late at night when my own little was in hospital. You were only two weeks old then and I marvelled at the miracle of your tiny physical form holding a tenacious spirit with the strongest will to live. Somehow, you became part of the fabric of my everyday life; each day I’d check in to see what adventures Amelie and her family were up to today. Tears of joy, sorrow and worry were shed watching your life’s journey from afar. Lessons were learned and an appreciation of the fragility of life was deepened. Love grew in the heart of this stranger on the other side of the world for you and your family and your life changed mine. You’ll never be forgotten sweet girl. Your time earth side might have been short but the impact you made will last a lifetime for all who were privileged to share it. My heartbreaks for you and your mum, dad, brothers and extended family and friends. I know you were so incredibly loved and are now so desperately missed. I haven’t met you, but my heart has filled to the brim with love for you. I prayed many times a day for you and your family, sweet baby girl. Your life was much too short for those of us who must go on without you, but the Good Lord knew what He was doing with your life. He knew what a huge impact you would have on the lives of tens of thousands of people. Because of you, I have come to the Father to say extra prayers of thanksgiving for my babies. Because of you, I was encouraged as I watched my own sweet son battle in the NICU. Because of you, I hold my baby boys a little more, take in all the details of them and all that they do, and appreciate my precious time with them. Because of you, I have become a better Mommy, and for that my whole family is so grateful to you. I cannot wait to meet you some day in heaven. I hope you are surrounded in perfect love and perfect peace until that day comes.
