

Anne E. Knilans, age 84, of Port Clinton and Upper Arlington, died Tuesday morning, November 23, 2010 at her residence. Born in Stuttgart, Germany, and raised in Columbus, Anne was the daughter of Rudolf and Anna Eberhardt. She graduated from Capital University and then taught at Stewart Avenue Elementary School prior to leaving to raise a family. She continued her involvement with education as a longtime volunteer in various public schools. She is survived by children, Michael (Marilyn) Knilans, Kyleen (George) Hale, Christine (Curt) Henrich and Timothy (Teri) Knilans. Also surviving are grandchildren, Amanda Kneice, Michael Knilans, Elizabeth Henrich, Michelle Henrich and Kathleen Knilans, brother in-law Richard (Lorna) Knilans, sister in-law Barbara Wetzel, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Michael Knilans, daughter Suzanne Knilans Kneice and brother Heinz Eberhardt. Anne was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, and had been a member of Clinton Heights Lutheran Church in Columbus for many years. She sang for many years with the Damenchor of Columbus Maennerchor, and participated on the boards of many charitable organizations. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Columbus, OH. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, 15 Clinton Heights Ave. Columbus, OH (on North High Street one block south of North Broadway), Pastors Ralph Wolfe and Kurt Borows officiating.
