

Ardice (Dolly) Vivian Russell, age 96, passed away Saturday August 13, 2022, at her daughter’s, Andrea, home in Seguin, Texas. She was born to Walter & Lina (Schaefer) Hild on November 3, 1925, in Schertz, Texas. She met Jack Russell while working at Randolf Air Force Base during WWII. They were married on March 23, 1946, in Cibolo, TX and moved to Columbus, Ohio, living there for 47 years. She was active in her children’s activities as PTA President, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher at Riverside Methodist Church where she and Jack were members. She was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest, Denise, entered high school then she worked at Nationwide Insurance in the Medicare Division. After retirement they moved back to Texas. Ardice was a devout Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a green thumb and loved gardening, sewing, crafting, THE Ohio State Buckeyes and the San Antonio Spurs. She and Jack enjoyed a long loving relationship of over 69 years before his passing in 2015. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. We celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. Ardice is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Gloraine Atkinson and brother Malcolm Hild, who was killed while serving his country in WWII. She is survived by her daughters: Andrea Sturm, Diane Ballard (Bill), and Denise Masters; grandchildren: Michael Sturm, Caryn Dixon (Luke), Stacie Pollard (Michael), Stephen Ballard and Kelly Masters; great grandchildren: Hayley & Hannah Dixon, Olivia & Samantha Pollard and Antony Giese; niece Pam Hendry & family; nephew Robert Atkinson & family and numerous cousins and friends. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Four Seasons Hospice who took wonderful care of her. The viewing will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio from 10 AM to 12 PM on Friday, August 26, 2022. Graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, Ohio.
