

Ardis J. Offensend, age 88, passed January 18, 2012. Born September 2, 1923 to the late Asa and Valla Offensend of Masury, Ohio. Aso preceded in death by brothers, Lewis Offensend, Asa E. Offensend, and Glen Offensend; and niece, Susan Offensend McCall. Survived by nephews, Fred (Susanne) Offensend, Los Altos, CA. and their son Ashley, nephew David (Janet) Offensend, Brooklyn, NY. and children Rebecca and Christopher, nephew Timothy Offensend, San Francisco, CA; nieces, JoAnna (Norman) James and their son Robert, niece Sandra Crowell, Troy, N.Y.; sister-in-laws, Doris (Lewis) Offensend and Bette (Glen) Offensend. Ardis retired as Financial Manager of the Columbus Office of the former Burroughs Corp. (now Unisys) in March 1986. She was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as Clerk of Session for many years and served on many committees and groups within the church. Received the Woman of Faith Award from the Presbyterian Women/Presbytery of Scioto Valley and served in different areas of the Presbytery of Scioto Valley. She was past president of the Lincoln Village Residents Association and received their Resident of the Year Award three different years and served on the Westland Area Advisory Group, against domestic violence. There will be a memorial service held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Day and Time will be announced at a later date.
