Audrey Ruth Moore

Audrey Ruth Dotson Moore, 90, of Grove City, Ohio, died Friday, March 20, 2015. Mrs. Moore was born May 19, 1924, on the Soncrant Farm near Lithopolis, Ohio to the late Byron and Alpha Dotson. She graduated from high school in 1941, with a full scholarship to Capital University in Columbus. Following the death of her father that same year, she decided to forgo college and began working at Lockbourne Air Force Base to help support her family. Working through the Second World War, she worked in various positions until the birth of the first of her six sons in 1951. Audrey was happy, fun and supportive and was the focal point of both her immediate and extended family. She was a voracious reader and loved to play cards and board games with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, Bill and avidly followed football, basketball and professional golf. Audrey was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for more than 60 years.

She is survived by her sons Christopher (Linda), Eric (Monica), Timothy (Cindy) and Samuel (Kim); daughters-in-law Gretchen and Margaret; grandchildren Kira, Grace, Derick, Joseph, Caley, Alexander and Max; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mary Lou Koch and Marla Dotson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred William "Bill" Moore, and her sons Daniel and Joseph. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm (7:30 Prayer Service) on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH, 43123.
