Aurora B Catalan Bushman

She is preceded in death by her parents Tomas and Alberta (nee Balatbat) Catalan, sister Angelita, brother Abelardo and husband Edward Bushman.

She is survived by sisters Adelaida Legaspi, Amorcita Castillo, Alabelle Zghoul, brother Tomas, Jr. Sister-in-law Pilar (Lizada) and nieces and nephews, Abelardo Noel, Cynthia Rodriguez, Albrecht, Clarence, Christine, Joshua Tomas, and Ishmael and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, Stepchildren Cindy, Kim and Scott Bushman.

Rory graduated from Philippine Normal College (Manila, Philippines) with BSEd, St. Francis University (Fort Wayne, Indiana) with MSEd, and Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, Ohio) with PhD.

She taught at LaPaz Elementary School (Makati, Philippines), Minster Public Schools (Minster, Ohio and Wright State University (Celina, Ohio).

She was Past- President of the Philippine American Society of Central Ohio, and Philippine Seniors of Central Ohio. Aurora was honored as one of the Twenty Outstanding Filipino American in the US,Guam, and Canada and awarded as Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America. Moved to Columbus, Ohio after retirement and had been an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, October 20, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Road. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am, Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1300 Urban Drive, Columbus. Father Thomas Petry, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
