Ayfer Yenicag

Ayfer Yenicag, age 74 of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Ayfer was born in Ankara, Turkey, daughter of the late Hilmi and Saziment Sualp. Ayfer graduated from Ohio Dominican College. She has a passion throughout her life for education and loved developing young minds into productive citizens and individuals. She began her career after college at St. Timothy's in Upper Arlington where she began teaching Biology and Science. Ayfer later moved to Istanbul and began teaching at Robert College of Istanbul and was the High School Principal for a total of 20 years of service. She ended her career as the Founding Principal of Hisar School in Istanbul: a kindergarten thru 12th grade school. Ayfer was a respected academician who introduced the High Scope education system in Turkey. She was an effective administrator and leader of two of the top schools in Turkey and in Europe. Next to education, Ayfer has a passion for gardening and loved flowers. She lived life to the fullest and always remains optimistic, viewing the glass as half full. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Uret Yenicag; son, Evren Yenicag; daughter-in-law, Julie Yenicag; grandson, Lucas Yenicag; and other extended family members, dear friends, and hundreds of daughters and sons who have been influenced by her. Memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until time of service Tuesday.
