Barbara Berdy Beatty, age 84, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio in the presence of her family. She was born on March 11, 1932 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Michael and Eva (Stanko) Berdy and graduated from Butler High School in 1950 and Slippery Rock Nursing School.
She made her career as a nurse and supervisor, working for a combined 43 years at St. Joseph Hospital within the psychiatric unit and in the maternity ward for 18 years.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Mary) Beatty, of Lorain, Sam (DeAnn) Beatty, of Amherst, Barb (Albert) Wittkopp , of Dublin, OH, Chris (Elaine) Newnan, of Georgia, Julie Beatty, of Columbus; and Jim (Deeann) Beatty, of Avon; 9 grandchildren.
The Beatty family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Sunday, October 30, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral andCremation Center, in Amherst OH. Online condolences may be left for the Beatty family at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center
