A private graveside service for Barbara Jean Hartley, age 84, of Newark, will be held at Fredonia Cemetery with Rob Heptinstall officiating. Barbara was born in Hebron, Ohio on July 13, 1929 to the late Abe and Hattie E. (Salyers) Malloy. She passed away at Arlington Care Center on January 10, 2014.
Prior to retirement, Barbara worked as a manager of catalog sales for Sears Roebuck for over 20 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Barbara A. Smith; grandchildren, Barbie (Scott) Oder and Robbie (Kim) Heptinstall; five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Dague and Susie Carpenter; and two brothers, Ray and Herman Malloy.
