Barbara "Barbie" Sue McLaughlin, 62, beloved wife, mother, mamaw and friend passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer on November 13, 2020. It was far too soon to say good-bye. Barb was born February 19, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Haley, and most recently, her mother Dorothy Butler. Barb graduated from Garrett County Southern High School in Oakland, Maryland and retired from Gahanna-Jefferson Local Schools where she worked as a school bus driver as well as in the Lincoln Elementary School cafeteria. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to travel and will be remembered for her contagious laugh and her devotion to her family. Her role as "Mamaw" was her all-time favorite! Family and friends knew that Barbara was just a phone call away and was always ready to help. She loved celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas. In lieu of flowers, her family would like you to consider donating a gift card in her memory and bringing it to the funeral home. These cards will be used to purchase items for an adopted family at Christmas time. Barbara leaves behind her husband James "Jim" McLaughlin; cherished daughters, Stacy (Mike) Isenbarg Murphy, Kelly (Brandon) Coleman along with their father Paul Tittle; step-daughters, Nancy Harris, Nikita (Ryan) Masters; grandchildren: Austin Murphy, Caleb Isenbarg, Grayson Isenbarg, Jasper Murphy, Bayleigh Coleman, Paxton Chamberlain, Maddox Chamberlain, Ethan Coleman, Brian Nelson, Dezeree Barnett, James Barnett and Madison McLaughlin. Barbara is also blessed to have two very special sisters, Linda (Zack) Browning and Ruby (Larry) Knots along with extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held 4-7pm Friday, November 20, at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Number of guests in the room at one time along with social distancing and masks will be monitored. The funeral will be held at 10:30am Saturday at the funeral home. With very limited seating, many will need to watch the service on their phones via webcasting from the parking lot. It was Barbara's desire to have a very long procession from the funeral home to Mifflin Cemetery and requested that everyone who can, please drive separately! Longtime family friends Joyce Butler (eulogist) and Pamela Creech (vocalist) are honored to be participating in Barbara's services. A special thank you to the amazing nursing staff at Interim Hospice and to all who helped provide support and comfort to Barbara throughout her illness.
