She is preceded in death by her husband, Dana Mendes; sons, James L. Woodard, Jr. and Clyde A. Butler, Jr.; great grandchild, Treshaun Oliver; father, Broadus Thorton; grandparents, Jesse and Gertrude Miller; siblings, Claudine, Beverly, Gertrude, Pete and Ricardo.

She is survived by her mother, Zenobia Williams; daughters, Esterline (Wayne) Scott, Angela (Don) Martin, Mary Knight; daughter in law, Kim Butler; grandchildren, Audrea, Willie, Obinna, Rodtez, Brion, Mariah, Ulita, Barbara, Prince, Stenisha, Shaunea, Shante, Tianna, Angelique, Chaz, Shontise, Tre, Claudia and forty-two great grand kids.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at New Tabernacle Church of Christ II, 1548 Wentworth Road, Columbus, Ohio, where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
