She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Nettie and Caryl Bowman, her son, Matthew Moore; and her brother George. She is survived by her children; Andrew, Peter (Tammy), Rebecca, and Adam (Amie); grandchildren, Dylan (Jessica), Blaine, Victoria, Carter, Spencer and Meredith; and great grandchildren, Harland and Maverick.
Barb graduated from Michigan State University with degrees in Home Economics and Teaching. She and her husband Don married in 1958 and were happily married for more than 62 years. In addition to taking care of the family, she enjoyed multiple positions over the years, with the Medina Health Department, delivering Meals on Wheels, and volunteering with Kiwanis and the PTA.
She also enjoyed many hobbies, including music, entertaining, knitting, quilting and crafts, puzzles and working in the kitchen (especially baking something sweet and making peanut brittle!). But most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She and Don enjoyed traveling and over the years had the opportunity to take several cruises and to visit many states across the US/Alaska as well as the Bahamas and the Panama Canal.
She was an active member of the Episcopal Church where she worked as a secretary, volunteered in the altar guild, served in the vestry, sang in the choir, and was an organist. She was a mother to us, but everyone was family.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association, and think of her next time you are enjoying a sweet treat (especially if it includes chocolate!).
Due to COVID, a memorial service will be postponed until it can be safely held.
