Barbara Ann Proicou

Barbara Ann Proicou passed away at the age of 87, under the care of The Avalon of Lewis Center on January 2, 2026. She was born at home in West Mansfield, Ohio on December 31, 1939, to the late Doris Eileen (Inskeep) Stanley.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years Christos Nicholas Proicou, to whom she was married on July 20,1962. Her 3 sons, Michael (Karen) of Largo, Florida, Mark of New York City and David (Leah) of Charlotte, North Carolina; 3 grandsons, Nicholas Clark Proicou of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Alex Mitchell Proicou of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Trevor Stanley Proicou of Charlotte, North Carolina and one granddaughter Lauren Alexander Proicou of Charlotte, North Carolina. Nieces, Tami (Tony) Dowel of Zanesfield, Ohio, preceded in death Darlene Stanley and nephews Nicholas Proicou of Kalamazoo, Michigan and George Proicou of Gahanna, Ohio.

She was known for her sharp wit and dry humor and she was a loving wife who enjoyed travel, especially when off to see friends and family. She was most proud of raising her 3 sons. In lieu of any flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lifeline of Ohio.

A Memorial Service will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road in Upper Arlington on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 11:00AM where reception will follow until 1:00PM.

She will be privately interred in East Liberty Cemetery in Logan County.
