With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we share the passing of Barbara Ann Shaw, 92, on December 20,2025 who leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selfless care for others. Born on November 12, 1933, in Zanesville, Ohio, she lived a long and meaningful life devoted to family, service, and kindness.
She met her husband, Bob, while attending Jacksonville Trimble High School, and they were married on September 15, 1955. They shared 50 years of marriage before his passing in July 2016, building a life centered on love and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and John Penrod, husband, Robert (‘Bob’) Shaw, and her beloved daughter, Deborah Eifert.
She is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Cochrane (Bill) and Christopher Eifert, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Asher and Annalynn Cochrane, who brought immense joy, happiness, and youthful light into her life.
At her core, she was a caregiver. A dedicated nurse and Infection Control Coordinator by profession, she carried that same compassion into every aspect of her personal life. She lovingly cared for her parents, her husband, and her daughter during times of illness, and played a significant role in helping raise her grandchildren. Taking care of others was not just what she did; it was who she was.
She had a special spark that drew people to her, and everyone who met her felt it. Selfless, kind, and warm, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was known for chauffeuring carloads of teenagers to practices, competitions, and activities, never hesitating to show up when someone needed her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Ashford of Grove City for the love and care provided to Grandma in her final years, and to Capital City Hospice for the compassion and support given during her final year.
The impact she made on the lives of others was significant and lasting. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
