Barbara Kay Wood

Barbara K. Wood, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Barbara was born in Columbus and was a long time resident of the North end. Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Linden McKinley High School. She had a long career at Battelle Memorial Institute, from which she retired in 2004. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling to Las Vegas, and winning on slot machines. Barbara is survived by daughters Anita (Bob) Jennings and Natalie (Mark) Wood; son David (Twjuane) Wood; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother Richard (Linda) Gaskalla; and family and friends. Preceded in death by parents Kate and Everett Gaskalla. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 and from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
