

Ben was awarded a National Science Foundation Grant to do research on his dissertation topic Enclosures in England 1969-1970. He received his PHD from the University of Washington in 1972. While teaching and researching as an Economic Historian at The Ohio State University, he received many teaching awards including the OSU Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Ben was a lifelong researcher and learner who loved to travel. During his last year he was taking lessons to learn how to be a helicopter pilot.
Ben will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years Vicki, daughter Natasha Weaver, son-in-law Nathan Weaver, son Jeremy, his partner Jason Williamson, grandchildren Maddy and Oliver Weaver, nieces, nephews, brother-in- law, and friends. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his in-laws Vernon and Bernice Cook, brother- in-law Steven Cook, and his niece Jessica Cook.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 AM on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where visitation and reception will follow 12:30 until 2 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kobacker Hospice House or Kaleidoscope Youth Center.
