Bessie H. Jones

Bessie Jones, age 84, of Columbus, Ohio died Monday, July 20, 2015 at her home. Bessie was a member of Glenwood UMC, past Matron of the Grove City Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star 502, and Thebes Temple Number 87 Daughters of the Nile. Preceded in death by husband Chuck, infant son and daughter, two sisters, and one brother. Survived by children, Darlene DiCaprio, Donna Mitcheltree, Donald Jones, Cathy Smierciak, all of the Pittsburgh area, and John Jones of San Diego, California; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; twin sister, Shirley Morris of North Carolina; and special friend, Jim Gill. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 2 PM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2833 Valleyview Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43204. O.E.S. service will be at 1:45 PM Wednesday and funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Interment and chapel service will be held 1:30 PM Thursday in the mausoleum chapel at Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15101.
