

Beth's Ph.D. was in human anatomy from The Ohio State University, where she was a Professor of Histology in the College of Medicine from 1960-1987. A published author, Beth was interested in teaching methodologies including computerized instruction, film and digital images. She was Consulting-Editor of the Journal of Creative Behavior and on the faculty for the Creative Education Foundation at the State Univ. of N.Y. Beth was a valued advisor for many years to Battelle, which benefited from her vast knowledge of science and zoology.
Hobbies included wildlife and nature photography, stained glass, beading, woodcarving, leather tooling, mineralogy, and Native American folklore and artifacts. As a 25-year member of the Docent Assoc. of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Beth served multiple terms as President, parliamentarian and North America region leader.
Proceeded in death by parents Etelka and Carl Wismar. Survived by cousin Susie Zartman and her daughter Diane in MA. and close personal friends, Marie E. Collart, Stephanie Reid, Marge Bennett, the Oblander family, Becky Dixon, the Zoo Animal Care staff in North America and fellow docents.
A devoted conservationist and animal lover, Beth leaves behind her beloved Zoo Aviary, favorite bear Ginger, and her "God puppies" Labrador Sir Knight and Coonhound Lady Moki.
