Betsy Booher

Mrs. Booher was born in Newark on June 1, 1941 to the late Wilbert H. and Mary E. (Richards) Hamilton. She died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Arlington Care Center. She was 69 years old.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Cayton Hile, Cynthia K. Johnson, and son Eric F. Cayton; sister and brother-in-law June and Jerry Shrivers of Buckeye Lake. Grandchildren April Johnson, Christofer Johnson, Little Eddy Hile and Nephew Jeffrey McCullough.

Betsy is survived by her daughter Shelly (Steve) Ables of Newark, sons Christian “Rocky” & Cindi Johnson of Yucon, OK, Steven Johnson and dear friend David Neal of Newark, grandchildren Steven Kelly II, Brittany Ables, Sara Ables of Newark, Michelle, Joshua, and Christian Robert Johnson of OK., Jacob Smith of Newark, Jeremiah Dager of Lima, and Brandy and Garrett Hile of Ohio, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betsy was a life long resident of Newark, and had many friends in the area. She loved to walk, ride her bike, and play bingo. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and took pride in her holiday meals that she made from scratch. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and her extended family at the Arlington Care Center.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2275 Cherry Valley Road, or the Salvation Army, where Betsy spent much of her time as a volunteer.
