Betty Sanor Cameron

Born in 1922 in Columbus, OH to Daniel and Lana Sanor. Betty graduated from Upper Arlington High School where she was inducted into the Jones Hall of Fame. She attended The Ohio State University where she was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Ohio State University in 1944. Following graduation, she was an Instructor of Fine Arts at The Ohio State University and later became the Executive Secretary of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Over her lifetime, Betty was very involved in the Columbus community. She was President of Junior League of Columbus, Chairman of the Board of Managers for the Columbus Gallery of Art, a member of Twig99 and Pleasure Guild. She was also a member of the First Congregational Church and Scioto Country Club. Betty loved socializing, playing bridge, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed cheering on her beloved Buckeyes. In addition, she looked forward to illustrating and sending her annual Christmas card which she did for over 50 years.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol Cameron Amos and four grandchildren Jeff (Tracy) Mathewson, Matt (Lauren) Amos, Lana (Travis) Williamson, and Elliott (Kari Drouhard) Amos as well as 7 great-grandchildren: David and Jacob Michel, Ann Mathewson, Liv and Emmy Williamson, and Lucy and Henry Amos. She is also survived by her sisters: Lana Sanor Livingston of Austin, Texas, and Nancy Sanor Pennell of Columbus, Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her late husband, Robert V. Cameron, and daughter, Ann Cameron Mathewson.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 3 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger RD. where the family will receive friends from 1-3 pm.
