Betty Chirila

Betty (Veno) Chirila, age 84 of Columbus, went with the Lord, Friday, November 6, 2009. Betty was born April 20, 1925 in McConnelsville, Ohio to the late Andrew and Grace Wilson. After graduating Morgan County High School, Betty attended junior college where she studied bookkeeping, and later went onto become an accountant, her profession throughout most of her life. Betty was a very strong and independent woman during a period of time when women were just learning independence. She enjoyed traveling, especially through Europe, and was an avid reader. Preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Grace Wilson, son, Bernie Grotegeer, brother, Andrew Wilson, Jr., and sister, Wauneda Knox. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Emil Chirila; children, Frank Christopher Veno, Antionette (Kevin) Veno Golden, and Joseph Veno; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until time of service.
