

Betty Hannah, age 80 of Blacklick, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 22, 1929 in Akron, and graduated from Akron East High School. Betty attended the University of Akron and transferred to The Ohio State University where she attended nursing school. There, she met George Hannah, who was attending dental school, and they were married soon thereafter. The farmstead in which Betty and George raised their family is now Hannah Park on Clark State Rd. Betty retired as the nurse manager of Oncology from Grant Hospital. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Gahanna. Betty liked working crossword puzzles, was interested in politics, and enjoyed meeting with her friends from the AARP group. Her children, grandchildren, and attending church were the joys in her life and her family will miss her greatly. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Theodocia Witherow; husband, Dr. George Hannah; and brother, Jim Witherow. Betty will be missed by her children, Greg Hannah, Debbie Hannah, and Gary Hannah; grandchildren, Brooke, Johnathon, and Patrick Hannah; and brother, Frank Witherow. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday, June 12, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where the family will receive friends Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
