Betty Hays

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hays passed away peacefully at the Eason House on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the age of 90. She was a member of Tri-Delt Sorority at The Ohio State University, Scioto Country Club and Trinity United Methodist Church. She served on the Buckeye Boys Ranch service board and was The Ohio State University May Queen in 1948. Betty loved being a mother to her children and was involved with all of their activities. She loved international travel with her husband, Bill through Rotary, enjoyed being social and entertaining friends. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Carl "Bill" Hays; two sisters, Helen Walter, Dorothy Everson; and daughter-in-law, Joan Andrews Hays. Betty is survived by her loving children, W. Lee Hays, Susan H. (David) Robenalt, James H. (Kelli) Hays, Robert D. Hays; grandchildren, Lee (Carrie) Hays, Robert (Rachel) Hays, Michael (Hannah) Hays, Jennifer (Derek) Wallace, Lindsey (Bryan) Watson, Allyson Hays, Chrissy Hays, Grant Hays; great grandchildren, Andrew, Catherine, Annabelle, Amanda, Dagny and Philippa. The family would like to thank the Eason House and Gentiva Hospice for all of their love and support given to their mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association or Gentiva Hospice. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL1740 Zollinger Rd., where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015.
