

Betty Montgomery Lynch, 83, of Gahanna, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011. She was born April 18, 1927 in Alliance, OH, and moved to Gahanna at the age of three. She graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School and held various positions for the Village and City of Gahanna for over 30 years. Betty was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and singing in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Gahanna Senior Center and loved traveling. Betty found enjoyment shopping and collecting “treasures”, gardening, and spending time with family. She was a good person, hard working, loyal, quiet, and a can-do person. She loved watching basketball, especially the Buckeyes. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Walters; sister, Evelyn Jolley; brother, Charles; first husband, Ralph E. Montgomery; and second husband, Eugene Lynch. Betty will be missed by her loving son, David A. Montgomery; granddaughter, Melissa Montgomery Riley; great-granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Riley; brothers, Robert (Rowena) Walters and William (Patty) Walters; many nieces and nephews, many friends, including Kim and Dan Blaise; and caregivers, Lee McQuade and Donna Jacobus. Family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. Family will receive friends Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Rd., Gahanna, OH, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Pastor Kai Nilsen, officiating.
