

Betty retired as a librarian from the Grove City public library and was very active in the Lutheran Church. She was a long-time Galloway resident and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grove City. She has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna, and most recently Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church in Westerville. Betty was a beautiful pianist, liked to play cards, travel, read, and knit. She volunteered with Mt. Carmel Hospice for many years. Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to many who will miss and cherish her memory.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Martin; second husband, Howard Miesse; grandson, Mark Lahman; parents, Theodore and Selma (Steed) Bechtold; and sister, Josephine Gaskill. Betty will be missed by her loving children, Jeni (Carl) Lahman and James (Stephanie) Martin; grandchildren, Gretchen Lahman, and Carin, Jeffrey, and Jon Martin; and great-grandchildren, Cayden and Kyleigh.
Betty requested the funeral service and burial be private. Her family will host a cookie and coffee open house at her home in Galena on Sunday, October 21st from 1-4 p.m.
