Betty J. McGinnis

Betty Jane Morris McGinnis, age 95 of Circleville died Tuesday, September 10, 2012 at Pickaway Manor Care Center. She was born September 21, 1916 in Walnut Twp., Pickaway County, daughter of the late Emmett Cleveland and Mary Shaw Goff Morris.

She was a 1935 graduate of Circleville High School and a graduate of Bliss Business School. On December 27, 1940, she married Francis Gregory McGinnis in Circleville, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1987.

Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active with the Martha Circle. She worked at the Pickaway County Board of Elections for several years where she later served as a Board member. She received the Pinnacle Award from the Secretary of State. Betty was a staunch Democrat who was active in the Pickaway County Democratic Party for many years.

She is survived by her son Michael G. (Patricia) McGinnis of Circleville; granddaughters Michele L. (Bernie) Lockard of Circleville and Melissa L. (Stephen) Renner of Gahanna; grandsons Casey Lockard of Circleville, Liam and Callum Renner of Gahanna.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14th in the chapel of the Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
