Betty Swan, 70, passed away peacefully with her beloved children by her side on Saturday, November 27, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada on July 18, 1951 to the late William and Mary (Walker) McIntyre. Betty never met a stray animal that she didn't try to rescue, heard a word that she couldn't spin into a song, or a stranger she couldn't turn into a friend. An avid lover of travel, she was able to visit her children in Australia, New Zealand, and relocated to Ohio to become a full-time Grandmother (her true calling in life). One of her greatest accomplishments, after having her children, of course, was completing the Camino de Santiago trail, an 830 km walk from France through Spain with her sister Denyse and Brother-in-law Marty. She is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Myrna and Eric Caume. Betty will be deeply missed by her husband Blaine Swan; loving children Ryan (Heather) Swan, Chelsea (John Adair) Swan, and Tyler (Tiffany O'Brien) Swan; grandchildren Charlotte and Wyatt Swan (who called her Marmy); sister Denyse (Marty) Walsh; brothers Brian McIntyre and Eugene (Wendy) McIntyre; and her pets, Marley and Annie. At Betty's request, no funeral will be held however to celebrate her life, the family asks that you pour a glass of your drink of choice, indulge in your favorite meal surrounded by loved ones, share a story about her and laugh, as it was her favorite past time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 www.columbushumane.org/give.
