

Bettyann "Betsy" Loefgren Nichols, loving wife, mother and daughter passed away at the age of 94 on November 11th from natural causes. She was blessed to be surrounded by all of her children at the time of her passing.
Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1931 to Clarence and Elizabeth Loefgren, Betsy was preceded in death by husband Bruce, her parents and brother, Roger.
A member of the Class of '49 at Niles Township High School in Chicago, Betsy was a Cheerleader and member of the Glee Club, Latin Club, and the Synchronized Swimming Team. In the summer months, Betsy could be found lifeguarding on Lake Geneva. At the University of Illinois, Betsy joined the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and pursued a degree in Dance. Upon the completion of her studies, she moved to Cleveland, OH, where, while working at The Curtis Publishing Company, she met and married husband Bruce in 1955.
Betsy loved meeting new people and spending time with dear friends, many of whom she met while serving on various service boards, including The Buckeye Ranch, The Columbus Museum of Art, Nationwide Children's Hospital TWIG, Opera Columbus, Ballet Met and The Columbus Symphony.
She is survived by her five children, David Nichols (Michele) of Cincinnati, Susan Nichols Klein (Steve Yablong) of Tampa, FL, Nancy Nichols Coons (Fred) of Upper Arlington, Thomas Nichols of Upper Arlington and Peter Nichols (Juli) of London, OH, ten grandchildren, John Nichols, Ben Nichols (Mackenzi) Patrick Klein, Sarah Argueta (Kenny), Mary Molloy (Rob), Richard Coons, Daniel Coons, Katie Nichols, Joe Nichols (Carolyn), Emily Pritchard (Jason) and eight great grandchildren, Jack, Georgia and Harrison Nichols, Nellie, Olive, Birdie and Finn Molloy and Augustine Argueta.
Details on a memorial service will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to The Buckeye Ranch Service Board which supports children and families in need.
