Billie Ruth Livingston Eubanks

Billie Ruth Livingston Eubanks passed away peacefully into God's hands on February 28, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on February 10, 1930 in Plant City, Florida to William R. Livingston and Ruth Crosby Livingston. Billie spent much of her early life in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina graduating from high school and starting her family. She later lived in Louisiana, Texas, California, and Ohio, but still fondly called Batesburg-Leesville home. She was a long time member of Leesville United Methodist Church where for many years she directed the Children's Choir.

Billie was actively involved with the S. C. Federation of Women's Clubs and the National Foundation March of Dimes serving as Eastern Regional Director. In 1979 she moved to California and built a successful career in sales and management in the fabric industry. She retired in 1990 and moved back to Columbia, SC. She remained very active in her community volunteering at Palmetto Baptist Hospital and working as a tutor for Richland County elementary school children. She adored helping others. As a child of the Depression, Billie was frugal in nature, but generous in spirit. She was ever present if someone was ill or had lost a loved one. Her compassion was demonstrated in many ways throughout her life. She was a passionate gardener, an animal lover and excelled at Southern cooking.

Billie will be lovingly remembered by her three children, 2 grandchildren and brother as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Those include her daughter, Sharon Eubanks Schoneberger and husband Albert, son Robert E. Eubanks and partner Ursula Kemble, and son William R. Eubanks and wife Susan, grandchildren Cameran and Cayce Eubanks, and brother and sister-in law Lt. Col. (ret.) A. C. Livingston and Rose Anne Livingston.

Her family would like to thank the staffs at Wesley Ridge and National Church Residences Mill Run for their loving devotion to "Miss Billie" during her final years in Columbus.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 1001 or Leesville United Methodist Church, 510 E. Columbia Ave., Leesville, S. C. 29070 There will be a private service for family members at a later date.
