Blake was a wonderful baby boy. We were surprised that we were blessed with a boy as we expected to only have daughters. We knew we would use Malcolm as his middle name to represent his father and loved the name Blake; ironically making his initials BMW, matching his mother. Everyone always thought he was heavier than he was because he was built like a brick. Although Blake was only with us for 4 ½ short weeks, he showed us how sweet and loving he was. He loved to snuggle all day. From the time he was born, he never cried much, but always grunted. Payton loved him so much. He was the first person she wanted to see when she woke up in the morning and she always held his hand in the car. They already had a special bond. He brought such joy to our family and friends. We all will love and miss him dearly.
He was loved by his Mommy, Daddy, and Payton, Great-Great Mamaw Margaret, Great Granny, Great-Grandma Patsy, Great Papaw, Great-Grandma Anne, Grandma Deanna, Grandma and Grandpa Murphy, Mamaw and Jeff, Papaw, Aunt Carrie and Jillian, Aunt Bobbi-Jo, Uncle Eric, Brandon and Connor, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Nick, Josephine and George, Aunt Ashleigh, Uncle Eric, Annabelle, Jacob, and Ethan, Aunt Brookie and Luke, and extended family and family friends including those that have already passed.
We will never be able to give enough thanks to the PICU and ECMO teams at NCH. They did everything in their power to help Blake and our family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation here: https://www.gofundme.com/support-blake-wrights-memorial. You can read more of his story and see photos here too. A donation will be made in Blake's honor towards the ECMO team at NCH. We are in the process of setting up the donation fund with Nationwide, please check back later for the specific information needed for donations made by check. It is our hope that this money will be used to help save the lives of other children in the future.
Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, OH, 43085 on Thursday June 6, 2019 from 3:30-5:30pm with a private memorial service for family to follow.
