Brandon Lee Ballou was born on April 28, 1984 in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2020. Brandon lived most of his life in Columbus OH and briefly in Tennessee. Brandon had a generous heart and truly cared about people. If someone was down, he would listen and provide words of support. He cheered his friends and family on even when he struggled. Brandon always loved to make people laugh throughout his life. Whether it was as the family or class comedian or as the meme master he was quick with a joke, a meme, a pun, or one of his original songs. Brandon's only son, Caleb passed away some time ago, but remained in his heart. Brandon loved children and animals, and always had a soft spot for both. He wouldn't hesitate to sit on the floor to join in playing with the toys and games, and enjoy it as much as them if not more. Brandon preferred a simple life with family and friends and enjoyed walks, going out to eat, movies, sports, and just spending quality time with Loved ones. As a child, he was fearless with his bright silver-blue eyes, big heart, and impish grin that he readily shared throughout his life.
Brandon is preceded in passing by his son, Caleb Patrick Ballou; maternal grandparents Norman and Opal Servant; paternal grandmother Carol Haines; aunt Teresa G. Mehnert; and uncle Richard Guilmette.
Brandon's legacy lives on with his father Phil (Debbie) Ballou; his mother Melissa (Dwayne) Crawford; his brother Anthony Ballou; his sister Danielle Ballou; his step-brother Thomas (Stephanie) McDaniels; his step-sisters Amanda (Russ) Shrider, Tonya Vasbinder, and Amanda (Corey) Miller; grandfather James (Mary Jo) Ballou; uncles Brian Servant and Leon Mehnert; aunts Terri Ballou-Stump and Deena Guilmette; and many other dear family members and close friends.
Public calling hours will take place from 4pm-7pm, Friday, June 5, 2020, at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 EAST LIVINGSTON AVENUE, COLUMBUS 43232. Attendance levels will be monitored in compliance with social distancing requirements. We respectfully ask friends and guests to wear a mask for everyone's continued safety at this time.
For those still fighting the good fight, here's one more message from Brandon:
"When everything seems like an uphill struggle, just think of the view from the top."
