Brandon Ricardo Reed peacefully passed away on April 16, 2026, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s ICU unit. He was born on January 12, 1951, in Lorain, Ohio, to William Reed and Theda (née Hopewell) Reed, both of whom preceded him in death.
Brandon dedicated many years of service as a probation officer with the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. Over the course of his career, he worked in numerous courtrooms and built meaningful professional relationships, most notably during his time working alongside Judge Miller and Judge Frye. Known and respected throughout the probation department, Brandon left a lasting impression on colleagues and the many individuals whose lives he touched. He retired in 2013, embracing a well-earned and joyful chapter of life alongside his beloved wife.
At the center of Brandon’s life was his deep love for his wife, Claye (Collins) Reed, whom he married on June 19, 2004. Together they built a life rich in companionship, laughter, and shared adventures, especially through their travels. Brandon was a devoted husband—steadfast, caring, and fully present in the life they created together.
Brandon was never one to hold back his thoughts, often sharing his perspectives on the world with candor and humor. A proud graduate of the University of Mount Union, he carried his education with pride throughout his life. He also had a passion for music and could often be heard singing a favorite tune with enthusiasm. A loyal Cleveland Browns fan, Brandon followed his team faithfully and was always ready to offer his own spirited advice on how to improve their game.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Claye; brothers- and sisters-in-law Don and Florence Blocker of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Daryl and Roxanne Mason of Cleveland, Ohio; his cousin Drake (Francine) Hopewell of Lorain, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
