Brenda Louise Russell

Brenda Louise Russell, age 77, of Columbus, died Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was the former longtime Executive Secretary for the Editorial Department of the Columbus Dispatch. She was a member of Berean Bible Church and a Location Manager for the Franklin County Board of Elections. Brenda was also a former member of Professional Secretaries International and volunteered with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Preceded in death by father, Robert F. Strope and brother, Robert "Bobby" Strope. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Uhler Strope; children, Kathy (Paul) Edwards, Robert Smock, Alex (Sonja) Russell Michelle (Paul) Grubbs, and Kristina (Heath) Cottone; grandchildren, Tawnia Holley, Paul Edwards and Brian Edwards, Robert, Kayla, and Korey Smock, Joshua, Stephanie, Christopher, Matthew Russell, Dustin (Chelsie), Daniel, and Emily Gilmore, Erika and Derek Grubbs; great grandchildren, Troy and Brandon Holley, Savannah, Grace, Kaylee, and Maximus Edwards, Kirstyn Tomblin-Brooks, Lucas Grubbs, Layla Swartz, Kyri and Colton Stevens, Christina Carmack and Lily Reeves; sisters, Gloria (Gunther) McNamer, Deborah Smock, Barbara (Matt) Voss; and other relatives.
