
Carl C. Berasi, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Powell, Ohio on Friday, February 26, 2010. He was born to the late Carlo C. and Marguerite (Scalfi) Berasi on August 7, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was married to Mary (DeVito) Berasi on November 13, 1948 at the Cathedral of St. Columba. Carl was the owner of American Tile & Terrazzo Co. and was a lifetime member of the International Union of Bricklayers Local 8-OH. He served in the U.S. Army’s Southern France Campaign during World War II. He was an active member of St. Dominic Parish in Youngstown before moving to Powell, Ohio. Carl is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Karen M. Berasi, of Tolland, Connecticut; Dr. Carl C. (Louise) Berasi III, of Powell, Ohio and Joseph G. (Michelle) Berasi, of Raleigh, North Carolina. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Lauren, Carl IV, Natalie, Steven, Brittany, Carli and Audrey. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Diane Borghetti, Jean Mineo, Lillian Wasinski, Angelo Berasi, Geno Berasi and John Berasi. A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00PM Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Cathedral of St. Columba, 159 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44503 with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
