

Dr. Carl E. Clous, 76, of Poinciana, Florida peacefully passed away Saturday, August 25th at Zusman House Hospice in Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents, Carl J. and Mildred Dresher Clous. Survived by his three children: Scott (Dr. Kelly Roberts) Clous of Orlando, FL; Jon (Alysha) Clous of Bexley, Ohio and Kelly “KJ” Clous Sprague of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren: Leo, Peter, Max, Norah, Sarah and Fallon. Dr. Clous grew up on the Hilltop in Columbus and was a graduate of West High School Class of 1955. He joined the United States Army and served several years in Germany. Dr. Clous received his Bachelor’s Degree and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. His teaching career included both Columbus Public Schools and higher education, first at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, then the University of Georgia in Athens. His vocational training skills led to employment with the Guy F. Atkinson Construction Company in Augusta, Georgia and Duchesne County, Utah. After retiring in Ohio, he became an active Florida resident enjoying many friends, travel, pickle ball tournaments, bicycle riding and especially dog sitting for neighbors.
