

Carlos Sparks, age 49 of Westerville, entered into eternal life Saturday, March 20, 2010 after a hard fought battle against cancer. Carlos was born August 2, 1960 in Columbus, and was a lifelong resident. As a young man, he worked for Valentine’s construction company, where he developed a passion for masonry, and worked for Kroger Bakery for 13 years. He loved listening to his music, attending concerts, and has over 250 ticket stubs in his collection. Carlos was an avid OSU Buckeye fan, and loved to garden. He took joy in making his yard beautiful and sharing his vegetables with neighbors. He was an outdoorsman and hunter, who loved spending summers at Lake Cumberland boating with Theresa and his cousins. Carlos was an amazing cook with outdoor grilling being his specialty, and attended Genoa Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond Sparks and brother, Lloyd C. Sparks. Carlos will be missed by his loving wife of 4 years, Theresa; mother, Ruby Sparks; sons, Jason (Amber) Sparks and Carlos A. Sparks; grandchildren, Patrick and Desiree; brothers, Clarence (Jeanette) Sparks and Glen Sparks; sister-in-law, Lori; a niece and nephew, several cousins and close and dear friends, and his faithful dog, Cheyenne. Funeral services 10am Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, where family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4pm & 6-8pm.
