

Carol L. Hall, age 83 of Columbus, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020. Carol is the eldest daughter of William W. Lane and Nita B. (Newman) Lane. Carol is survived by her husband, George F. Hall, her daughter Laura E. Hall, her son Roger A. Hall, his wife Patty (Voss) Hall, and her three grandchildren Sam, Luke, and Grace Hall. Born in Onawa, Iowa, she was raised in Kentucky, California, and Illinois. After high school, she worked at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, IL. Carol met George at a square dance at Illinois State University. Both transferred to the University of Illinois where Carol received her B.A. and was the valedictorian of her class of the College of Home Economics. Married for 61 years, Carol and George lived overseas in India and Australia. They loved travel and visited five of the seven continents. She devoted her considerable intellect and energies in life to training her children and volunteering. She was active at Mountview Baptist Church, Bible Study Fellowship, OSU Ag Circle, and with International Friends. If you knew her, you would remember her careful way, her aesthetic eye, and her practical acts of love for others. Family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2020 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Friday January 17.
