

Carol A Philip Perkins was born on December 1, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio and died on March 2, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 72 years old. She is predeceased by her parents, John Paul and Velma Philip. She is survived by her husband, Joel Perkins; daughter, Misha Sutherland; siblings, Thomas Philip, John Paul Philip and Jayne Briggs and grandson, Eian Philipwagner.
Carol received her Masters Degree from The Ohio State University. She taught for many years for the Columbus City School System. Carol taught for over 30 years with CCS, the last decade working with young adults at Riverside Hospital Community Services.
Carol also was a valued volunteer with The American Red Cross and the Sierra Club of Columbus. Volunteerism was a big part of Carol's life. She coordinated with Gap Inc. to fund a house build with Habitat for Humanity. While building this home she met her husband to be, Joel. Many of their earlier dates were spent building homes for families in the Columbus community.
Carols greatest joy was her grandson Eian. She spent many hours sharing her love for education by homeschooling him during the Pandemic.
She loved to have a backyard oasis with many beautiful flowers, plants and fountains to enjoy throughout the year.
There will be a visitation for Carol at the Schoedinger Worthington location, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 4pm-6pm.
