
Carol Lynn ("Tete") Sikes, 77, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on July 8th, 1948 in Wheeling, West Virginia and raised in Bridgeport, Ohio, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Frederic and Blanche Gonot.
A proud alumna of The Ohio State University and lifelong Buckeyes fan, Carol embodied warmth, humor, and resilience in everything she did. She dedicated 28 years of service to the United States Postal Service where she was known for her quick wit, sharp sarcasm, high intelligence, and unwavering service.
Carol lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and great love for her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: son David Moreland of Hilliard, OH; daughter Jamie Moreland of Dallas, TX; daughter Natalie Sikes (DeAngelo) of Columbus, OH; and beloved granddaughter Jordan and grandson Andrew. She also leaves behind her sister Paula Gonot and brother Fred Gonot of Littleton, CO. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Gordon Sikes. Carol's family was the heart of her world! Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a surrogate mother to many of her children's friends and her house was always full of love and laughter.
Known for her intelligence and sarcastic sense of humor, Carol brought laughter into every room she entered. Whether watching her favorite baseball games, cheering on the the Buckeyes or Browns with great enthusiasm, or relaxing with a good murder mystery book or TV show, she found joy in life's simple pleasures. She also enjoyed playing word games on her phone - a pastime that showcased both her intellect and competitive spirit.
