Carole Diane Ebersole

Carole D. Ebersole, 74, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021 after a three-year battle with cancer. She was born June 7, 1947 in Detroit, MI to the late Ethel (Teschendorf) and Harold Cischke; also preceded in death by her brother Alvin Cischke. She attended Harper Woods High School, where she met her lifelong sweetheart, Steve Ebersole. They were married in Detroit, MI on August 12, 1967. Carole was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated herself to serving her community. Raising her children in Michigan, she served as an adult leader in the Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs. She resettled with her family in central Ohio and later in life served as president of Gahanna American Legion Auxiliary 797, as an officer at VFW Tri-Community 4719, and for many years on staff at American Legion Auxiliary Buckeye Girls State. Carole is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Steve Ebersole; children Dennis (Mary) Ebersole and Brenda (Thomas) Storz; grandchildren Alexander, Joshua, Elisabeth, Karina, Nicholas, William, and Eva; sister Jeannette Terns; sister-in-law Carol (Anthony) Clark; brother-in-law Mark (Linda) Ebersole; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Family will welcome friends 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, October 1, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230, and also from 11:30 -12:30 Saturday, October 2, 2021 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4456 Morse Rd., Columbus, OH 43230. Funeral service will begin at 12:30pm on Saturday; interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Pastor Steve Brown, officiating.
